WhatsApp Now Available For Windows and Mac PC Without Using Emulators

Many people have been enjoying using WhatsApp on PC through the help of emulators like Bluestacks, GenyMotion, Windroy and others, but aint really a legal means of using this application on the PC. WhatsApp has now officially launched/announced the “WhatsApp Web”, which is a web application that can connect your mobile and your windows PC so as to be able to use WhatsApp on your PC while at work without the use of your mobile device.

To Use WhatsApp on Windows and Mac PC without Emulator

Ø  Go to the Google Play Store and install the updated version of WhatsApp.

Ø  Open the latest version of WhatsApp which you just installed.

Ø  Press the Options button where you should see a link called “WhatsApp Web”

Ø  Click on that, you should now see a QR Scanner

Ø  Now go to your PC and make sure that you are connected to the internet.

Ø  Open Google Chrome Browser and go to the website http://web.whatsapp.com

Ø  You will see a QR code on this website.

Ø  Now take your mobile phone with QR scanner of WhatsApp and scan the code.

Ø  Boom, your WhatsApp profile, messages, contacts and media are on your PC.

Ø  You can send messages and chat from your PC only.

Note: The mobile linked to the PC should be connected to the internet at all times while you are using the WhatsApp on your PC (Google Chrome) and ensure that you have downloaded and install the latest version of WhatsApp on your phone.

This only works on Android operating system for now. Apple users (iOS) should chill till further notice.

Whatsapp Now Back on Windows Phone marketplace

Couple of weeks back, WhatsApp pulled their app from the Windows Phone marketplace. It was discovered that the reason for the removal of the app was due to technical issues.

Since then, WhatsApp has been working with Microsoft to rectify the issue. Whatever the issue was, the app is presently available in the Windows phone market place.

When Microsoft was contacted about the issue, Joe Belfiore who is the corporate VP for Windows Phone just said that they were working to fix the app and would become available for download soon. Now that the issue as been rectified, users on the Windows Phone platform can now go ahead and download the application easily.

There doesn’t seem to be any other change other than fixes for the mysterious technical issues. Other than the rectification of the technical issue, the app as been updated with the following changes:

* Chat backgrounds

* Broadcast lists

* Privacy settings (settings > account > privacy)

* Media auto-download settings (settings > chat settings > media autodownload)

* Custom notification tones (Windows Phone 8 Update 3 required)

* Various enhancements and bug fixes

WhatsApp Pulled from the Windows Phone Marketplace due to Technical Issues

WhatsApp has mysteriously vanished from the Windows Phone app Store if you haven’t noticed. Searches for the WhatsApp on devices running on the platform of Windows Phone 8 & 8.1 gives "We couldn't find a match" as shown in the picture above.

Existing users who already installed the app should have no issues, but new users who didn't already have it on their devices couldn't download it anymore as it is temporarily unavailable (unpublished) due to technical issues with the app.

Facebook was contacted and they replied that;

"Unfortunately due to technical issues, we have chosen to un-publish WhatsApp Messenger on the Windows Phone platform. We are working closely with Microsoft to resolve the issues and hope to return to the store shortly. We apologize to our users for the temporary inconvenience."

Facebook to Acquire WhatsApp for $16 Billion

Facebook said on Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire WhatsApp, the
massively popular messaging client in a $16 billion cash and stock
arrangement with the popular messaging application's parent company.

This is facebook's biggest acquisition to date.

The deal for WhatsApp includes 183,865,778 shares of Facebook stock,
valued at $12 billion, along with $4 billion in cash. Once the
acquisition closes, Facebook has promised to
grant 45,966,444 restricted stock units (RSUs) to WhatsApp founders
and employees, tacking on an additional $3 billion in value to the
deal. The additional RSUs will vest over four years following closing.

In a statement, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg described WhatsApp's
services as "incredibly valuable". He also said in a post published to
Facebook. "Our mission is to make the world
more open and connected. We do this by building services that help
people share any type of content with any group of people they want.
WhatsApp will help us do this by continuing to develop a service that
people around the world love to use every day."

"You can continue to use WhatsApp no matter where in the world you
are, or what smartphone you're using," koum said. "And you can still
count on absolutely no ads interrupting your communication. There
would have been no partnership between our two companies if we had to
compromise on the core principles that will always define our company,
our vision and our product."
